Kohl Delivers Final Senate Speech

Outgoing Wisconsin US Senator Herb Kohl thanked his colleagues, his staff and his constituents during a farewell speech on the Senate floor this morning. 

Kohl thanked the people of Wisconsin for taking a chance on him in his first election 24 years ago and re-electing him three more times.

Baldwin and Thompson Face Off in Their First Senate Debate

In a key U-S Senate race, Democrat Tammy Baldwin and Republican Tommy Thompson spent part of their first debate Friday night fighting over health care issues. 

Thompson was Health and Human Services Secretary for four years under President George W. Bush. Thompson  says President Obama's health care reform law has to be repealed.

"Right now the Affordable Care Act has 20 taxes increased in there. We gotta do away with the Affordable Care Act," he says.

Tea Party Express endorses Neumann

One of the national Tea Party groups has endorsed Mark Neumann in the Republican U.S. Senate primary.
 
The Tea Party Express says it's backing former Congressman Neumann, and will soon air a TV ad for the candidate. The Tea Party says it will also bring a bus to Wisconsin to use at community rallies and as a phone bank. Chairwoman Amy Kremer says Neumann is a true conservative who will protect constitutional freedoms, and as a home builder, Neumann is a businessman who knows how to create jobs. Kremer also says Neumann isn't afraid of attacking spending in Washington.
