Milwaukee has become one of First Lady Michelle Obama's “Let's Move” communities.
The Let's Move program aims to reduce childhood obesity. It includes everything from encouraging more exercise to getting local schools to serve more vegetables at lunch.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says efforts over the past year qualify Milwaukee for Let's Move designation. The idea has the backing of former Green Bay Packers star Gilbert Brown, who runs a free youth football camp in the city. Brown says it's good to pry kids away from computer games and get them outside.
Other Wisconsin communities have also signed up to be in the Let's Move program. Cranberry growers, however, say they're worried the program will result in sugared cranberry drinks being removed from school vending machines.
