Get Out the Vote Efforts in Full Swing

Get out the vote efforts in Wisconsin have entered their final sprint, dial or drive.

In Milwaukee, Sanderal McKinney is helping the labor-backed group Wisconsin Jobs Now coordinate rides to polling places. McKinney has set up 70 rides for voters Tuesday. She says in the predominantly minority and low-income central city, it’s vital that people vote.

This week, public schoolteacher Sharon Champeau drove volunteers for Democratic senate candidate Tammy Baldwin to Milwaukee neighborhoods.

In Green Bay Monday, Bill Good of suburban Chicago is helping get out the vote for Republican congressman Reid Ribble.Good says he’s especially trying to make sure people actually go to the polls, “Its targeted to people who vote our way. and some undecideds.”

UW Green Bay student Aaron Wagner is also helping the GOPand says he believes he’s connecting with folks.

The phone calls, door knocking, and other outreach arelikely to last until the polls close Tuesday night.
